Nico Salazar's "Call My Name" hits Jim Carson's Top 10 playlist and sees heavy rotation on Best of 2024 compilations for Cola & Lollipops

After hitting #1 on the Beatport charts with his remix of Jim Carson "House Music Saved Me," Nico Salazar delivers a surprise hit for 2024 in the original tune "Call My Name."

The lyrics sing, "Where are you now? This is hard. Where are you now? Whenever you call my name, This is hard, Baby won't you hold me," with a hypnotizing melodic synth line playing in the background of the heavy-hitting drums and sub-bassline that make the track fall somewhere in-between progressive house and techno.

Epic breakdown and hihats playing off each other with soaring risers and builds add to the tension and release of the track.

Impressed by the final mix and master of the track, Jim Carson began playing it in his DJ sets and began putting the song on the mix compilation for "Tech House & Funky House - Best of 2024" - a compilation you can pick up here for only $8.99 with 100 tracks on Beatport: https://www.beatport.com/release/tech-house-funky-house-best-of-2024/4638713 Use code Save10 for the next 4 days for 10% off your purchase.

The track also found its way onto Cola & Lollipops's - Best of 2024 - House Music series which is exclusive at Beatport right now for the next two months. https://www.beatport.com/release/cola-lollipops-best-of-2024-house-music/4770834 You won't find it available for download anywhere else except Beatport for the time being.

In case you don't know who Jim Carson is, Carson is in the Top 100 DJ's of all time and in The Top 3 of DJs in Los Angeles according to the DJ list dating back to all the way in 2003. He began spinning at a young age in 1997 after going to dance music events since 1995 and playing in punk rock and rock bands as both a guitarist and a bassist since 1992.

The bio on Jim Carson is so long it would take an entire book to print it out but we will do our best to give you the short and concise version.

According to Resident Advisor, https://ra.co/dj/jimcarson, Jim Carson is one of Los Angeles & North America's top high energy, funky, tech-house DJs. Carson mixes in elements of electro house, techno, tribal, trance, and progressive into his mixes and live DJ sets. Never one to be defined by one genre, Carson constantly pushes the boundaries of electronic music and is known for being an innovator and trendsetter in the industry. DJing since 1997 in the United States, Carson has remained at the forefront of the U.S. house music movement and has guest Djed and headlined numerous major festivals, raves, and club events including the infamous Oracle 3 Festival with the Wu-Tang Clan & Little Louie Vega, Spundae LA w/ Gabriel & Dresden, Chemistry LA @ Avalon, Puresounds, and WMC events in Miami @ The Shelbourne & Catalina Hotels.

Carson frequently shares billing with A-List talent like Donald Glaude & European artists like Rank 1, Solarstone, and Matt Darey. As an up and coming producer, Jim Carson has signed tracks to labels like Aurora Music. Known for his dirty, funky, ass-shakin rhythms, Carson is a resident for Amsterdam's Chemistry LA AQUAGROOVE pool parties in Los Angeles & Open Air Sundays @ Wokcano in Santa Monica which has recently hosted world class artists like Mark Farina, Dave Dresden, and Perfecto artist Kenneth Thomas.

Santa Monica College's Religious and Philosophy Ph.D professor and Kundalini yoga teacher, Donna Quesada, has called Jim Carson a "modern-day renaissance man." A Renaissance man would be an intellectual philosopher, studying a wide variety of subjects. Usually, the Renaissance man would be a writer and an artist, an inventor, as well as skilled in science and/or math; a cultured man of the who is knowledgeable, educated, or proficient in a wide range of fields. A present-day man who has acquired profound knowledge or proficiency in more than one field. This is definitely an accurate description as he has went from being a DJ to becoming a massage therapist to a Kundalini Yoga teacher to a hypnotherapist to an energy chakra balancing worker to a record label owner of three record labels - Music Is Medicine - MIM, Anahata Love Recordings, and Cola & Lollipops.

To listen to the interview with Dhanpaul Donna Quesada from the Tao of Happiness hosted on Cal State Long Beach's radio servers, go here: Listen to Episode 001 - Dharam Deep Singh by Yogis Paradise on #SoundCloud https://on.soundcloud.com/mhEFW

Jim Carson is also known as Dharam Deep Singh which means "one who shines bright with spiritual radiance, lighting the path of righteousness and puts a lamp on spirituality."

Carson also had Dhanpaul Donna Quesada on his show "The Dharam & Christian Show" later changed to "Chakrapod" but the co-host Christian Donahue got into some legal trouble for bringing a gun into his ex-wife's residence because he didn't want to keep it in his house due to renting out AirBNB, so Christian was in a world of legal troubles and risk of going to jail so the show had to end after 13 great episodes. However, there were a lot of great guests on there and good times. Christian later went onto troll Jim Carson on Soundcloud and told him "the 90s called and they want their garbage beats back," but Carson just laughed at it and blew it off. Christian was like that old ex-girlfriend that is bitter at your newfound success.

Mostly the support for Carson has been positive with "Pimp Respect" his first 12-track album in 2017 on Beatport reaching #2 on the Funky House chart and charting in the Top 5 of nu disco and house and progressive to name just a few genres.

Carson at the time mostly went under the alias OM Daddy to take his name out of the equation and simply focus on having fun in the studio. He thought of the most ridiculous name he could think of, similar to what Deadmau5 did, and he came up with OM Daddy since he was a serious yogi at the time who practiced everyday, 3-4 times a day, and meditated on the mantra of "OM." Daddy because he wanted a name that would suit him even as he got older and entered "daddy status."

Jim Carson, under the alias, "OM Daddy," has close to 150 releases here at Beatport. Download them today for a steep discount: https://www.beatport.com/artist/om-daddy/636038/releases Use code save10, save20, save30 depending on how much you spend, $20, $40, or over $60.

Leading the tech house, deep house, and progressive house genres as an underground and club DJ, Jim Carson's DJ sets are legendary. DJing for almost 20 years internationally, Carson has been responsible for some of the greatest electronic dance music sets to ever grace the walls of the world's top clubs including Circus, Avalon, and a host of other dance music venues in Los Angeles and around the globe; including massive raves and festivals like Oracle 3 and 31Flaverz. Carson's name is synonymous with funky feel-good house music and tech-house. Carson was featured at one of the US's biggest dance music events - LovEvolution - in San Francisco (formerly known as the Love Parade and Love Fest) on the Chemistry LA float in front of over 150,000 electronic dance music enthusiasts.

Jim Carson has guest Djed and headlined numerous major festivals, raves, and club events including the infamous Oracle 3 Festival with the Wu-Tang Clan & Little Louie Vega, Spundae LA w/ Gabriel & Dresden, Chemistry LA @ Avalon, Puresounds, Twilight Afterhours in Edmonton, and WMC events in Miami @ The Shelbourne & Catalina Hotels.

Carson was a resident at the infamous Circus Disco nightclub in Hollywood for over 3 years and played many headline sets there as a guest for over 10 years from 2001-2011. From 2011-2015, Dharam Deep took a slightly different turn into DJing his own sets and providing sound healing as he lead Kundalini Yoga, Meditation, and Hypnotherapy workshops all over the world from San Francisco to Bali and back again.

In 2024, Carson through Cola & Lollipops and Anahata Love Recordings once again returned to the international festival & dance club music scene with hypnotic, groovy, sexy, tech-house, techno, breaks, funky house, and progressive rhythms; with a #1 Beatport release with the iconic "Move It Like Olga." He also hosted a radio show from 2020 to 2023 called Bangkok Bass w/Jim Carson every Tuesday night 10pm Pacific & Wed 12pm Indochina Time for the best in house music on Substation.ONE Read about it here: https://substation.one/members/jim-carson/

Brandon from Substation.one now Acid877.com wrote, "Jim Carson aka OM Daddy aka Ganesha Cartel recently traded the Hollywood sign and LA traffic for exotic beaches and giant reclining Buddhas. Jim is the host of Bangkok BA$$ LIVE WORLDWIDE from Thailand Tuesday nights at 10PM (LA) on subSTATION.one – United We Dance®

One of the most hardcore, hardest-working, inspiring, happy, & prolific house/techno music producers & touring DJs on the planet right now. From out of nowhere, Ganesha Cartel burst onto the scene in 2018 with the debut album “Are We Dreaming?” which charted various singles around the world including “We Are One,” “The Missing Ingredient (Anahata Love),” & every tribal & afro-house producers’ wet dream come true – “Deep In The Jungle.” Then he hit #1 on multiple charts in 2019 on another download site with the release of “Tech House & Progressive House: Anahata Love Recordings: Funky House & Breaks: Best of 2018” with nearly 72 of his own original songs & remixes. At the tail-end of 2019, he has produced nearly six new-albums worth of eclectic world music, tech-house, funky house, progressive house, breaks, & techno material after the passing of his father who introduced him to the world of music & dance.

Not only a DJ & world-class prolific music producer, mix engineer, & mastering engineer, Ganesha Cartel runs OM Lotus which is a full-service healing & hypnotherapy practice. He is also a JD candidate in law school where he is learning how to hypnotize judges & juries. Ganesha Cartel’s beats are so hypnotizing they may lead you to become addicted to his fierce, sexy, & sensual fire-brand of house, tech-house, techno, & everything in-between, as he bends genres like a magical spoon bender live on-stage in a Las Vegas showroom.

Ganesha Cartel truly believes in living from the heart center so he named his label Anahata Love Recordings after the heart chakra in Hindu spirituality & yogic practice. He came up with the name while in deep meditation while practicing yoga in Bali at The Yoga Barn… just kidding… he was partying at Anahata Love Studios & the name came to him while working on a funky-tech-house tune called “My Skin Feels Electric” under the production name OM Daddy.

He also believes in the power of Ganesha to remove obstacles & that cartels also have the power to change & remove obstacles to higher consciousness, growth, & transformation. Whatever the case may be, catch Ganesha Cartel’s booty-shaking, feel-good, pulsating, uplifting, & funky-beats on tour in 2020 with appearances in Los Angeles, Bangkok, Barcelona, & Ibiza already confirmed. Check out his latest releases on Anahata Love Recordings like the new “Underground Artists” EP with Hackerbeatz & Joey Avila as well as the new remix album “That Danjer Sound” on Las Vegas’ Dynamic Musik, “Yoga” on Anahata Love featuring Pinkman & Heisenberg, & hundreds of releases on a host of international labels.

There is no stopping this young man as he continues to grow & progress as an artist, label owner, sound mix engineer, & mastering engineer. He may like Jackin’ House music, but he sure does but a spin on the phrase “Jack Of All Trades” & turns it into “Master of All Trades” including House, Tech-House, & Techno."

Ultimately, Carson gave up his law school aspirations as he was living overseas and became triggered by the criminal law class as his father was criminally starved to death by his sister's opposing counsel - Overing & Wilde law firm of Pasadena, California. They would continue to threaten and harass Carson even while he was in Thailand and spread rumors to Carson's mother that he had a gun and was coming back to shoot the family. All vicious lies and trickery, but that is how they handle cases, which doesn't give Carson much faith in the American legal and justice system. But in house music we trust. "In the beginning there was Jack and Jack had a groove and from this groove came house."

While tragic in nature, what Carson endured in 2019 with his father, it led to the lawsuit against his sister and brother-in-law that was settled out of court and made way for him to free himself of the environment and home where his studio was located; and tampered with by Overing and Wilde with multiple break-ins and planting firearms and randow wills from over 10 years ago related to his grandmother's passing; Carson was finally free to do what he wanted to do and had an amazing 2020 as he set up Cola & Lollipops and met a muse named Hannah from Vietnam who lived with him for nearly 9 months who he still remains friends with until this day. 2020 was the beginning of Cola & Lollipops and the beginning of experimenting with different sound engineers until 2022 when some quality sound engineers were put into place. Prior to that Carson, mixed and mastered everything and produced most of the tracks.

Of the over 200 original tracks on his label, he only has 6 tracks where he didn't touch the DAW. An impressive feat for such a busy man and touring DJ. In 2020, before the lockdowns, Carson played Mustache Club in Bangkok, PENTA in Ekkamai, his own Taco & Tech House night, and club nights in Vietnam. In 2021, Carson continued his journey and exploration of Southeast Asia by moving to the tiny island of Koh Phangan in the Gulf of Thailand. He played many club nights here at Ma Meridian Bar with DJ Sai and also Sabaii Bay Beach Club with resident DJ Playin' Blind.

Fast forward to 2022, Carson was brought to Bangkok by a groupie of his music where she insisted she live with her and she was sex starved and needed him to fulfill her desires. Jim, being the stud that he is, rose to the occasion and for almost 3 years now has stuck by her side.

It was in 2022, that Carson decided to assume the pseudoname and alias "idtfkngno" and released the hits "Jack" and "Latinas."

Pick up idtfkngno "Jack" here: https://www.beatport.com/release/jack/3915615

idtfkngno "Latinas" can be found here: https://www.beatport.com/release/jack/3915615

Killer tracks that sound good in any set with progressive vibes and Latin-tribal vibes as well.

They made it onto his live set in February 2024 of this year for the recording of the album "Jim Carson Live From Koh Phangan."

You can download this epic album "Jim Carson Live From Koh Phangan, Thailand" here: https://www.beatport.com/release/jim-carson-live-from-koh-phangan-thailand/4549447

But before Jim Carson was a production beast and Top 10 Beatport charting hit-maker, he was working and paying his dues as a resident DJ in Hollywood at clubs like the Sunset Room for promoters Chris Wayne and Richard Agopian, Club Deep for Luis Q and The Weida Brothers (probably one of his favorite residencies and promoters to spin for), Little Pedro's Afterhours thrown by Jesse, and DJing at Sound Nightclub when it was called Club Blue and hosted Hot Apple Pie and Hollywood's Foam parties where Carson was admired and praised with respect by none other than rock band Poison's C.C. Deville.

No newbie to the scene, Carson has paid his dues and is looking to take the Cola & Lollipops brand global and multinational with events in every major city where Cola & Lollipops has artists. In 2019, there was a brief tour in Barcelona and Sitges, Spain, with fellow Anahata Love Recordings DJ Marco Dollenz accompained by DJ Paige. Paige joined Ganesha Cartel for the marketing and the two had Spainards and Belgians dancing their asses off in the locations by the sea of the Mediterranean to the grimy but funky clubs of downtown Barcelona owned Pancho Belafonte. The parties were thrown in conjunction with Dollenz's Art House Productions and one of the nights can be found on Resident Advisor here: https://ra.co/events/1307273

...
