Jim Carson DJs Bangkok for the first time in nearly 5 years at the newest hip spot in town - Eden Dispensary & Cafe - this Saturday, November 16th, 2024 - doors open at 7pm - all you can smoke for only 420 THB. Believe it or not, it has been awhile. If you count the Christmas fundraiser for the starving children of Thailand at Jamie Reinhardt's Buddhist Center - Shambala Meditation Center at Young Place, it has been 4 years since Carson DJed in Bangkok. In any case, it has been a long time and the longest stretch of time he has gone without spinning on a weekly basis since he started his journey and mission way back in 1997; before the turn of the century.
Carson has been a solid performer in the electronic dance music community since 1997 and has DJed legendary stages at Burningman to Circus Disco LA as both a special guest and a resident DJ, more guest appearances at the two legendary and proper institutions of trance, house, and techno - GIANT and Spundae - and was also called on to be a resident DJ after three gigs as a special guest for Chemistry LA imported from Amsterdam.
Chemistry LA had the only float in San Francisco from Los Angeles and Carson braved the high winds and harsh weather conditions to play for 150,000 dance music enthusiasts from San Francisco's 2nd Street to the Civic Center.
This was part of the scene at LoveEvolution modeled off Germany's legendary Love Parade. Carson has DJed just about everywhere and every club from Los Angeles to Las Vegas to New Orleans to Miami, Florida. So when he took some time off to focus on music production it was for the betttermanent of humankind and society as a whole; a selfless, alturistic act to benefit the people of the Earth and give back to the dancers and music enthusiasts high quality house music; and to bring "pimp house" as the official "genre" of "funky house" meets "nu disco" meets "UK Garage" meets "tribal house" meets "progressive" meets "bass house" meets "dance/pop" for healing hearts on the dancefloor.
In 2021, Carson Djed all over the magic island of Koh Phangan including Moon House at the world famous Full Moon Party and was a frequent guest at Sabaii Bay Beach Club.
2022-2024 saw Carson buckle down and locked in the studio producing some of the best music of his life for Cola & Lollipops and Anahata Love Recordings under the alias "idtfkngno" with "Jack," "Latinas," and "Disco Life." So Carson has been building up his production arsenal and label - Cola & Lollipops - along with Anahata Love Recordings and Music Is Medicine - MIM - so that the generations of the future and the now will be bestowed with classic, timeless, 90s-influenced dance music that is the foundation for what really good house music and what pimp house is all about.

Currently, "Pimp House Vol. 2" is charting at #11 in Funky House and #18 in Nu Disco along with #81 in Tech House, no small feat for a competitive dance music market that increasingly becomes more crowded and cuttthroat. Everyone seems to be a DJ and producer these days. But no one can say that they have had the experiences Carson has had in Southern California's forest and desert parties and best clubs Los Angeles and Orange County and San Diego have to offer.
