Recently, the Cola & Lollipops angel crew and love patrol got a chance to sit down with Cola & Lollipops producer and remixer Nico Salazar and ask him a few questions in order for the public to get to know him better and find out his tastes in music, women, and clubs; as well as his plans for the future.
Interviewer: Nico, what would you say your favorite 5 house or techno tracks of all-time are right now?
Nico Salazar:
1. Phuture - "Acid Tracks"
2. Hardrive aka Little Louie Vega - "Deep Inside"
3. Après Feat. Lolé - "Wonder Why"
4. Charlotte De Witte - "How You Move" (Southmind Edit)
5. Jim Carson - "House Music Saved Me" (Nico Salazar Remix) - the first track I remixed that charted.
Interviewer: Nice! That is quite a Top 5 list you have got there! Very eclectic. What would you say is your favorite club or venue to play at?
Nico Salazar: Favorite Venue to play at? Sadly, the venue isn't around anymore, its been rebranded, but it was Artisan Afterhours in Las Vegas.
Interviewer: Ah, I see. I saw an article about that. Too bad. I heard that was definitely the place to be in Las Vegas for nightlife and dance music.

Interviewer: Nico, listen, what is your least favorite part of being a DJ and producer?
Nico Salazar: My least favorite part of being a producer and DJ are the politics involved, I mean... like who has time for all that? What a waste of time!
Interviewer: That's right! Let's keep the politics out of dancing and music. Now that you had some success with a #1 Beatport Charting Hit, what would you say your plans for the future are? Looking ahead into 2025 where do you see yourself?
Nico Salazar: Future Goals? I would like to continue to break into other markets such as the UK where I just played some gigs.
Interviewer: I almost forgot, what is your favorite thing about being a producer?
Nico Salazar: Seeing a mix come from a blank screen to a full blown creation and having it be enjoyed by people in other countries. That is what lights me up!
Interviewer: Now, final question, and it is tough one... Asian Girls or White Girls?
Nico Salazar: BOTH!!!!
Interviewer: A man on a mission! An equal opportunity employer! That is what we like to see around here at Cola & Lollipops - nothing but love baby! Now that Nico has established himself as a force to be reckoned with on the house music circuit with mad production skills with frequent collaborations with Jim Carson and others, he is destined to reach even higher heights in the years and decades to come. His recent single "Call My Name" is starting to get noticed by touring DJs and getting picked up in their Top 10s. Don't be surprised if you hear it soon!
